Contemporary Recognise Salon Talent

North East based hair salon group Contemporary celebrated its success with an evening of glitz and dirty glam.
The company recognised its staff and education centres talent at its annual conference held at Middlesbrough Football Club.
The evening featured a spectacular hair show named ‘Dirty Glam’ directed by Contemporary’s highly acclaimed Art Team.  Clothing by Middlesbrough based Sisters Wardrobe and make-up by N E Representation complemented the look.
The evening’s most prestigious award, Salon of the Year was won by Stokesley, with Yarm receiving runner-up.  Both salons continued the celebrations as their respective managers Kate Fisher and Karen Duffield jointly shared Salon Manager of the Year trophy.
Stokesley proved to be on a winning streak, also picking up PR Salon of the Year and L’Oreal Retail Salon of the Year.  Zoe Blakeburn also walked away with Top Stylist of the Year award and Creative Youth Winner.
The evening proved to be a special night for Claire Morley from the Guisborough salon.  As well as being promoted to Art Director, Claire also received a special recognition award for her talents and contribution to hairdressing.  Celebrations continued for Guisborough when Rachel Shaw walked away with Stylist of the Year.
Stockton proved it super serves it’s clients after scooping Customer Service Salon of the Year and the salons Emily Garbutt shared the Customer Service Manger of the Year award with Laura Keogh from Whitby.
Contemporary’s newest salon, Harrogate walked away with a handful of trophies. Franchisee Emma-Louise Usher was awarded Art Director of the Year and walked away with Product Advisor of the Year as well as scooping the Christmas Highest Take prize.  The salons Ria Jayne Martin-Long was delighted to be promoted to Style Director.
Other awards went to Marske for TIGI Retail salon of the Year and it shared the much coveted Salon Image Award with Harrogate.
Whitby’s Laura Shackleton was a real winner on the evening too when she picked up Style Director of the Year and Highest Take of the Year.  The Whitby salon also won Kerastase Retail Salon of the Year.
Contemporary’s NVQ team were also awarded a special recognition award for their outstanding training achievements.
